Premium High Availability is a new option for Dynatrace Managed, which extends Dynatrace’s SaaS architecture to hybrid clouds. Organizations that have deployed Dynatrace Managed on multiple data centers will be able to benefit from the same level of availability for their hybrid cloud.
“Large organizations around the world want the freedom to choose where they store their observability data, whether in a public cloud or in their own networks. Tracing logs and transactions is particularly likely to contain sensitive data ”, explains Mary Johnston Turner, IDC Research Vice President for Cloud Management.
Make passive backup clusters superfluous
“As large organizations deploy services and applications in increasingly large multi-cloud environments, and for which they want all or part of their observability data to remain confidential, it is essential that they have at least the same levels of availability and resilience than those using an observability platform in SaaS mode, ”she adds.
Dynatrace Premium High Availability offers immediate recovery in the event of a breakdown, while ensuring high availability thanks to a fully automated active-active cluster configuration. This distributes the load and, in the event of an incident, instantly switches to the operational cluster. This deployment option therefore makes it unnecessary to maintain passive backup clusters, as well as the infrastructure necessary to store and transfer back-up data.
Premium High Availability is licensed separately and is intended for installations with more than 1,000 host units. Dynatrace announces the release of the Early Adopter version which should start with version 196, available in July 2020. Participation in this Early Adopter version requires the involvement of Dynatrace R&D for the initial implementation.
