The French IT consulting and services group Atos has just started two takeover projects. That of Paladion will reinforce its prescriptive SoC offer. That of Alia Consulting is done via its subsidiary Worldgrid which evolves in billing and CRM software for energy suppliers. Alia covers vertical SAP S / 4 HANA offers for utilities.
Atos has just announced two takeover projects, one in managed detection and response security services, the other to strengthen the offer of its Worldgrid subsidiary specializing in the energy distribution sector with solutions vertical. The 2nd French IT services company, led by Elie Girard since the departure of Thierry Breton (who has become European Commissioner in charge of the internal market), is preparing its next generation of prescriptive operational security center (SoC). Based on artificial intelligence functionalities, the technology developed by the American Paladion, based in Reston, Virginia, will allow Atos to strengthen its capacities for anticipation, detection and response to threats. The French service group intends to associate it with its AI R&D and threat and risk analysis. Paladion is managed by Rajat Mohanty. It has 400 customers in 12 countries. Founded in 2000, it achieved revenues of $ 29 million in 2019 with 800 employees worldwide. The transaction is expected to close in the 4th quarter.
Alia Consulting to strengthen itself in energy
At the same time, Atos is preparing, via its 100% Worldgrid subsidiary, the acquisition of Alia Consulting, a company based in Paris, specialist in consulting around SAP S / 4HANA applications in the field of “utilities” (distribution of mainly energy). Alia generated approximately $ 9 million in revenue in 2019. It brings together 70 consultants. Worldgrid addresses the global energy market with vertical customer relationship management and billing software. In October 2019, the subsidiary had already acquired X-Perion Consulting AG, a German player in energy consulting, to bring it closer to its local subsidiary Energy4U GmbH. With the acquisition of Alia, it intends to consolidate its leading position as an SAP partner around S / 4HANA on this market in Europe. This operation should also be completed by the end of the year. It must be validated by the governance bodies of Atos.
